Happy New Year 2007
Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope that anyone unlucky enough to be reading this is having a fantastic New Year. It is too early in the year for me to say that my year is sucking, but, it is already looking like that is the case. So, let's get right down to it. First off, New Year's Eve itself totally sucked. I'm sure alot of it is because I was so hopeful of having a really good time. We brought in the New Year at McCarty's. My comedian buddy was to perform before the band went on and then during their intermissions. He also had another comedian friend of his showing up and performing. I was the first one to arrive and I found out that all the table and booths were reserved for the evening. We had assumed that it would be first come, first served. They did have 2 booths open, so, I grabbed us one of those. I was of the assumption that it would be myself, comedian buddy, his girlfriend, & other comedian. So, a 4 person booth was perfect. As I got seated and awaited everyone else to show up, I did notice that the place was pretty much wall to wall couples. CRAP! I might not even find a single lady to kiss at the stroke of midnight. Comedian buddy and his girlfriend showed up. Then other comedian and his wife and a friend of hers showed up. DOUBLE CRAP!! Now we have 6 people for a 4 person booth. And, I'm sitting next to a stranger that I really don't want anything to do with. My expectations of the evening were dropping rapidly. The best/worst part of the evening was when midnight hit and from then until close. I stood up to ring in the new year and was never able to get seated again. I did lots of dancing with comedian buddy's girlfriend. That was a double edged sword. It felt really good to hold a shapely female body against my body, but, it felt really good to hold a shapely female body against my body. It felt nice, but, it also reminded me what I am missing in my life. Not only missing, but, unlikely to ever have in my life again. You start to forget exactly what it is you are missing when you go soooo long without.
On a different note, I do have something I'm still looking forward to. The weekend of Jan 12th to 14th. I have Monday off for MLK Day. That Friday night is out once a month karaoke. On Saturday night, a band is having a CD release party at Ben's Half Yard House. Sunday night, Ben's is having a closed door party for select customers. Comedian buddy, his girlfriend and myself were given invite's. So, I should have a really good time that weekend.
This weekend, I'm not sure what I'm doing. Comedian buddy has his daughter, so, I probably won't see him at all. Oh-well.
