This just in: My life still sucks
Just in case I had forgotten, I got another reminder this weekend. As any of you who has read my prior posting knows, I pretty much only get Friday and Saturday nights to meet anyone. So, to start, I didn't go out Friday night. My comedian buddy had his daughter with him and was staying home with her. I have ZERO problem with that. I'm very glad my buddy wants to spend time with his kids. The only thing that I don't like is I either have to go out alone (which I hate) or stay home. This time, I stayed home. So, right away, 50% of my "meeting girls" time is gone this weekend. OK, now to Saturday night. I got to Ben's at a fairly good time. I went to my usual table and sat. The girl my buddy has been sorta seeing came over and sat and we chatted a bit. Then another guy I know came over and pointed out where he was sitting at a table right in front of the stage. There were 2 girls I like that we usually see at the place we go on Tuesday nights sitting with him. So, I moved down with them and all was well. So, things went well all through the Gong Show (that is what the Radio station contest is now). Then it came time for karaoke. My buddy showed up and spent some time at the bar with the girl he is sorta seeing. I sang. He sang. The guy at my table sang. The 2 girls at my table sang. All was good. Then, the 2 girls got up and left without a "see ya" or a hug or anything. Hmmm. OK, maybe it wasn't a brush off or anything. As the evening wound down, I mentioned to my buddy that I was still sorta pissed because I have been unable to find anyone to go to the INXS concert with me on Thursday night. So, he calls over this VERY attractive, Ben's regular, that we both know. He asks her if she likes INXS and she seems very interested in going with. That is, until he says that his buddy (ME) has an extra ticket. Suddenly she isn't interested in going. A few minutes later, he calls another girl over to our table. He asks her if she would like to go see INXS for free. She seems very interested until he points to me and says I'm the one with the extra ticket. How quickly these ladies went from drooling at the thought of being asked out by my buddy to trying to suppress the desire to run away screaming when they realize it is me that the date would be with. Hell, I know I'm fat and ugly! I just hate being reminded of it twice in one night like that.
