Friday night at Ben's

Normally this would talk about how I didn't meet anyone and had a "blah" time at Ben's Half Yard House this Friday night. Get ready for the big surprise. Wait for it. Here it comes. Tonight was a REALLY GOOD night at Ben's. I know, what a shocker! Let me start at the beginning..... I was born a poor black child. OK, not THAT far back.

I was running a bit late tonight and got to Ben's around 11:00. The "Fuck Your Buddy" contest was still going on. I got me a table, ordered a Queso & Chips and a Dr. Pepper and enjoyed the rest of the contest. It was the usual stuff. My comedian buddy showed up around 11:45ish or so. He had a few beers & I went ahead and had a Rum & Coke. After chatting for awhile and enjoying the music and scenery, we got up and went over to where the guy from the radio station that runs the contest was. My buddy knows him and we always chat with him when we see him. There were 3 lovely young ladies that were hanging out with him. He introduced us to them. As the evening wound down, one of the ladies seemed to gravitate towards my buddy. They really seemed to be hitting it off. Not to be left out, I started chatting with one of the other lovely ladies. Dana. Yep, I'm gonna use her actual name. Dana and I chatted and moved to the parking lot when Ben's closed. We beat the rest of the crowd. We continued to chat and I really liked her more and more. The more we talked, the more I was liking Dana. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not moving too fast. I just really felt a connection that I would like to explore further. As we were chatting about a future event that the radio station is going to be holding, Dana asked for my phone number. She said if she got picked for the future event, she would make sure I got picked also and she would call me. Everyone else finally made it outside and continued talking and slowly dispersing and leaving. Dana and I continued to chat some more and as her friends finally were ready to leave, we did a few hugs and I got a little peck on the cheek.

I know this wasn't much, but, I'm just not used to anything good happening to me. And this was real good. Dana is very pretty, very interesting. Seems to have her head on straight. Great body. Fantastic smile. Now I just have to wait and see if I do get a call from her. If that happens, I will make sure to post it here. I'm sure you would rather read things like this then the "Whoa is me" usual posts I make. We will see. This could go either way.

2 weekends, a Tuesday and a Thursday

OK, its been a little while since I left a posting. So, here is an update for all of you who care. OK, care may be the wrong word. Here is an update for everyone who enjoys reading about my pathetic little life.

First - a weekend. Nothing happened. Didn't meet anyone. Didn't have any close calls. Nothing.

Second - a Tuesday. Karaoke as normal. I sang a few songs. I got a hug from "Hippy chick #1" and a hug from "Sweet Home Alabama chick #1". Both are regulars at karaoke. Hippy chick always shows up with a large group of hippies and she has a guy in the bunch. Sweet Home Alabama chick always shows up with another girl and they enjoy singing Sweet Home Alabama. It bothers my comedian friend (and he has told them, and I think that is why they make sure to sing it when he is there). He always pictures the guy dancing to that song in Con Air. I think it is funny that it bothers him. I would date either one of these girls, but, they have both made it clear that I'm not even on their radar screens. But, I guess getting a couple hugs is better than nothing.

Third - Thursday workout. Well, trainer made it clear that I am not on her radar screen either. She talked about a guy she had met and them going on a date. She also said she might show up for the "2nd Friday of each month karaoke" that I go to. It was the next night. Needless to say, she didn't show up.

Fourth - a weekend. Friday night was our "2nd Friday of each month karaoke". This time the theme is the Blues Brothers. It is a fairly annual theme. This year, comedian buddy and I decided to do it a bit different. We bought blue face paint and did our faces all blue in addition to the black coat & hat & tie & sunglasses. It was cool. Me, comedian buddy & his daughter all walked in at the same time with our blue faces. I sang 3 songs. Had a good time. Comedian buddy and daughter wanted to leave earlier than we normally do, around 12:30 or so. I went ahead and left at the same time. Didn't meet anyone. Didn't have any close calls. Not even any far off, but maybe a tiny bit close call. As we were leaving, comedian buddy lets me know that he isn't gonna be doing anything the next night. So, if I want to do anything on Saturday night, I'm on my own. Story of my life - ON MY OWN. Needless to say, I didn't do anything the rest of the weekend. Well, I got alot of sleep. If only I could make a living out of sleeping.

Fifth - Sunday night. OK, I did do ONE thing that weekend. I had gotten an email from Match.com saying that someone had sent me an email. I finally went ahead and joined Match.com again. When I checked the email, it was from someone who no longer had a profile on Match.com. And, after reading the email, I know it was just a scam. I've gotten ones like it before. Ladies claiming to be from Russia and they end up needing money from you. So, I didn't reply to that email. I did send out emails to 5 different ladies. I only joined for a month, so, I've got to bust my ass and try to meet someone in that time. Only time will tell.

Well, that is it for this posting. Later.

Yet another Friday

Yep, it is Friday again. First to update last night. My workout went just fine. No weird moments with trainer or anything. And, like I said, it was a tough workout.

Now to tonight. It is back to Ben's Half Yard House for "Fuck your buddy". That is the contest by the local radio station. My comedian buddy will meet me there after he fulfills his comedy club commitment. Not sure if I'm gonna do any drinking tonight. I'll have to wait until I get there and see. There might be a girl that I need to drink pretty to hit on. Or, there might be a girl that I just need the extra courage to talk to. Probably neither situation will present itself. Just have to wait and see. It is usually a good time regardless. Always good to hang out with my friend. And, I do love the queso. Mmmmm, queso....

Well, nothing else to report. Pretty much, my life is boring. But, I'm gonna continue to post. And I hope you continue to read.

The sheriff is a near

OK, if you don't know where the title of this post comes from, go to Blockbuster and rent Blazing Saddles. That movie was made before we even had the term "politically correct". Wonderful movie.

Now, onto the update about ME. Yesterday on the way home, I stopped at the mall and bought another karaoke disc. This one is the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack. I couldn't wait for the weekend to buy it because I want to practice a couple of the songs when we have our karaoke practice. That was going to be tonight. I got an email earlier today that practice will have to be rescheduled due to illness. That's OK, I won't have to rush from working out to karaoke practice. And speaking of working out, it is that time again. After no workout last week, this one is gonna hurt. And, even though I've tried not to think of trainer these last 2 weeks..... OK, I don't have a crush on her, but, I also keep wondering how things would work out with her. O-well, doesn't really matter. It isn't like I would actually make any move with her. I'm not even sure I have any moves. I'm pretty much "moveless". OK, I think I just made that word up. You are more than welcome to use it, just please give me the credit. :) Yep, that's gonna happen.

My real estate agent dropped me off some info at my office today. I'm sure (OK, I'm NOT sure) that I've mentioned that I'm condo shopping. I've actually found one that I really like. She dropped off a "property inspection report" and an "addendum for seller's disclosure of info on lead-based paint" and a "seller's disclosure notice". Alot of info to digest. There are a few things that I'm gonna have to look over at the condo again. The reports said some things were fixed. Gotta see if that is the case. One thing that kinda does bother me is that the place has aluminum wiring. The seller's discloser notice says that it "has been pigtailed". Does anyone know what that means? I can kinda guess. The ends have been replaced with copper wiring. Don't know if I'm right or not. Anyone have any info regarding aluminum wiring? Should I trust this?

Well, lunchtime is done. Back to the daily grind. Later.

Another wasted weekend

Yep, here it is, Sunday night. So, another weekend is gone. And what did I accomplish? Nothing. Nada. Zip. What is sooo wrong with me? It sure does seem to be a pattern. I look forward to each weekend, however, once passed I realize I didn't DO anything.

I've already told you about Friday night. So, here's what I did Saturday night. I went to Ben's Half Yard House. It was VERY packed for the NCAA Final Four games. Not a single place to sit. And, it didn't look like they were gonna do karaoke. I went back outside and got in my car and gave my comedian buddy a call. I left a message telling him I was gonna go to Wizards instead, for him to meet me there. As I was getting buckled up and ready to go, I saw lots of people leaving. So, I went back in and the place had sorta cleared out. So, I asked one of the bar tenders if they were gonna do karaoke and they said "Yes, after the game went off.". So, I called my buddy back and let him know I was gonna stay at Ben's after all. So, I found a table. Had me a couple drinks. A drunk guy sitting at the table next to me decided that he HAD to have a running conversation with me. Question, why do drunk guys seem to find me and feel they have to be my friend? Why can't any drunk girls do that? Anyway, my buddy showed up. We talked and drank. We sang one song each. Nothing really special. So, here was another evening that I met no potential dates. Nothing. No phone numbers. No "Hello". No nothing.

So, there is my Saturday night. Another bust! I'm really beginning to wonder why I even continue to go out at all. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy hanging with my comedian friend. If not for him, I would be a hermit by now. OK, a hermit or a corpse. I can't help feeling that my negative feelings are dragging him down however. I mean, I don't even like being with me. So, how can my friends stand to be around me. OK, nobody jump to any conclusions. I'm not moaning and groaning if I meet a girl. At least I don't think I am. I try very hard not to let my pessimistic feelings show to strangers. And definitely not to strangers that I feel I have any chance of ever dating.

OK, on a different note: This coming week, on Thursday, is our karaoke practice for our 2nd Friday each month karaoke. This months theme is Blues Brothers. Stay tuned for the details about that. Comedian buddy and I are gonna do it up!

Lotsa catch-up

OK, its been awhile since I posted, so.... HERE I AM!!! I'll try to catch you up on all the good and all the bad since last we spoke.

Friday night: OK, I was all excited about going out last Friday night. It started OK. I met my comedian buddy at Ben's Half Yard House. Put my name in for the contest that the radio station was doing. My name was called. I won a t-shirt AND 2 tickets to the Sammy Hagar concert. I know, I already bought tickets to the show. That's OK, the freebies are just 2 of the $10.00 lawn seat tickets. They were also giving away movie passes to 2 movies the next week. My buddy also had his name called and he won a DVD. Pretty cool. Oh, he also dropped some bad news on me. He was gonna do father-daughter stuff the next day, so, he wouldn't be going out on Saturday night. He also said that the radio station guys had been told to tone things down. So, no naked tits tonight. Damn! That was what I had been looking forward to. Also didn't meet any ladies, as usual.

Saturday night: I called my photographer buddy to see if he wanted to do anything. Him & his wife didn't have her kids that weekend, however, they were just gonna stay close to home and catch a dollar flick. So, having absolutely nobody to do anything with, I stayed home and did nothing.

Tuesday night: I met my comedian buddy at a movie theatre for our first free flick of the week. This one was Slither. VERY GOOD MOVIE. It is really funny. I wasn't expecting that. And not funny in a "we fucked this up soooo badly" kind of way. After the movie, we went to our Tuesday karaoke place. I only got in 3 songs since we got there later than usual. One round of songs, us 4 guys did Pat Benatar songs. That was cool.

Wednesday: I took today as a vacation day from work. I didn't do anything however. I slept in. Didn't get out of bed until about 5pm. Sometimes I just wish I could actually sleep myself to death.

Thursday: I took today as a vacation day also. However, I did stuff today. I met my real estate agent at 10am. We went and looked at some condos. One that I really liked on paper turned out to be a "no-go". And one that I wasn't sure about on paper turned out to be very nice. I think I'm gonna go for that one. After finishing our viewings, I ran home and ate while I watched an old CSI that was on the DVR player. After I was done, it was time to head out for the 2nd free flick of the week. This theatre was pretty far, however, it WAS a free movie. My comedian buddy didn't make it to this movie. It was his "late night" at work and he didn't even get out of work until a few minutes AFTER THE SHOW STARTED. This movie was Thank You For Smoking. VERY FUNNY. I actually had laugh out loud moments that I wasn't expecting. Loved it!!!

Friday night: Tonight. OK, back to Ben's Half Yard House. This time, the radio contest was called "Jailbait". They had 9 lovely young ladies that all looked like "jailbait". They had a talent contest and a pajama contest. It was a really cool night. ALL the ladies were very good looking. My buddy even won a $25.00 gift cert for a local porn store. VERY COOL!!! Of course, I didn't meet any girls tonight.

O-well, try try again.
